USERL receives abandoned horse

(May 25, 2007) - USERL was contacted by Johnston County Animal Control about a horse abandoned by his owner when they moved out of state. Family members brought the horse to their house, but could not rehabilitate him, thus the horse was signed over to USERL.

Skippy is in his late teens to early twenties and is blind in his left eye due to a cataract. His body weight is very poor (BCS 1.5) and his hooves are also in bad shape. He has relaxed quickly in quarantine and is a very sweet boy. He will be in quarantine for several more weeks then moved to a rehab foster.
